Markus Schulz is a DJ and a music producer, the founder of the recording studio Coldharbour Recordings and the artistic management company Schulz Music Group. He achieved success with the show „Global DJ Broadcast“ which he hosts weekly, where he invites various famous DJs, the show being broadcast by several online radios. At the same time, he is one of the most appreciated and requested artists. At the age of 45, Markus Schulz has many awards, including „America’s Best DJ“. You’re very popular in our country, but what’s your opinion about Romania?
Romania is a very beautiful country with beautiful passionate people, who I do not think fully realize how beautiful their country is. I am more at peace when I come to Romania then anywhere else, especially when I spend time in nature or in the mountains.
How would you explain to a child what love is?
The beauty of a child’s innocence is that he is very fragile, so I would always say something beautiful and imaginative like: „Love is that feeling of happiness that you have towards someone even when is raining outside. Makes you feel safe and strong and you feel like you can do anything you ever imagined.“

What is the bravest thing you’ve done in your life?
When the bully in the neighborhood who used to beat everybody up hurt my little brother I stood up to him even though I was scared. I think I was 12 years old and it was a turning point in my life.
What rituals do you have before a show?
I need at least 15 mins of complete silence, by myself, in the green room to gather my thoughts and to settle myself down.
What do you think the future looks like?
I think we are living in amazing times, technology is growing at a rate that we could never imagined and we are just scratching the surface. Soon everyone will have cars that drive themselves and everything in your house will be automated.
From whom did you receive the best advice?
From a club owner when I was a resident DJ. He told me: „Don’t worry about money, just do your art and the money will come.“

How do you relate to time, now?
I have become a little more impatient because I feel like I still have so many things I want to do and times flies too fast for me.
Have you ever stepped into a psychologist’s office?
Yes. I’ve had deep anxiety issues every since I was a little boy, and have had to seek counseling for it several times.
What wouldn’t you want the world to know about you?
Probably the fact that I do have anxiety issues because when I am on stage I am trying to show strength, passion and euphoria.
What do you think is that thing that seems strange to others, but normal to you?
My thought process and how I get to a conclusion.
